Ms. Butler Anne

Welcome to Ms. Butler’s Senior Infant’s blog. We are working very hard this year. Take a look at everything we’ve been doing so far.

Healthy Eating

We loved trying new fruit and vegetables in class as part of our healthy eating month.

We ate all the vegetables!

Adding up to 10

Aistear

We have been learning all about the Travel Agent during Aistear. We are very busy with people booking their summer holidays!

Cáisc Shona Duit

Spring Walk

Gardening

We planted red onions in our garden.

Since the weather was so nice we decided to have a picnic outside at lunchtime.

Engineering Day

We learned all about kinetic energy. We worked in groups to design and build a roller coaster. We then tested our roller coaster to see if it worked by rolling marbles down it. Check out our cool roller coasters.

Paper Helicopters

Check out a video of us flying our paper helicopters! We had so much fun!

Beannachtaí na Féile Pádraig ort!

We found a few leprechauns hanging around our classroom this week! 🙂

PE

Playing Marbles was so much fun!

Have you heard about the “Magic E”?

He has been spending a lot of time in our classroom this week!

SESE

We have been learning a lot about Spring.

We focused on the life of a frog. In English we learned a poem and then made frogs out of paper plates in Art.

Seachtain na Gaeilge

We danced our feet off at our Céilí! We have been practicing all year with Evelyn White.

World Book Day

We brought our favourite books to school and presented them to the class. We love to read and can’t wait to read the books that our friends recommended.

We picked our favourite characters from different stories and made character selfies.

Maths

We have been learning all about the number 9.

Science

We conducted an experiment to show the difference between fizzy drinks and water. We called this experiment “Dancing Raisins”. As you can see in the water the raisins sink to the bottom but in the fizzy drink the bubbles carry the raisins up to the top and back down again.

We loved watching our raisins dance!

Red Kettle Theatre

The Red Kettle Theatre company visited our school. They performed the play “Weird Ol’ World”. Some of our class participated in the play.

Art

We were learning all about China and we made Chinese lanterns.
